Established in 2001, Bari's aim was not to be just another "Classical Indian Restaurant" but to become a "Philosophy for food", to create a dining experience Carlisle had not provided; Bari's catering knowledge and close customer relationship helped make this possible.

Situated within the historic city of Carlisle, Bari Restaurant has been established for over 15 years opposite the city's centuries old Castle, conveniently found at the corner of West Tower Street. 

The Restaurant was the vision of A. Bari (Bari), whom decided with decades of prior experience, that he was to open an restaurant under his own name. Through sheer enthusiasm, determination, and hard work, Bari Restaurant is going from strength to strength; having gained a reputation for it’s high quality cuisine, vibrant atmosphere, and top class service.

Bari believes in paying attention to every detail, and is confident he is providing a restaurant that produces outstanding food in an inviting atmosphere that reflects the warmth and vibrancy of the exquisite dishes he has to offer. 

And for those who want to enjoy Bari's dishes outside the dining area, Bari Restaurant also offers a takeaway service for you to order and collect, and enjoy your meal in the comfort of your own home.

A. Bari (Bari), with over 30 years experience in the catering industry, has created a menu that blends together the best of the traditional and contemporary Bangladeshi and Indian cuisines known. His close relations both local and around the globe, allow him to securing only the finest ingredients available (and those few exotic items), required to create dishes both classic and new.

 

BARI

Born in Sylhet, a town in the North East region of Bangladesh, Bari's culinary interests starting at a young age. While still young, his family decided to move to the United Kingdom in search for better prospects. As well as becoming a highly skilled professional; proficient in all aspects of food preparation and customer service, he has become an entrepreneur; able to bring his culinary skills to customers with consistent quality at exceptional value.

 

FAMILY

Bari is married to Roushan, who also works at the Restaurant, and has two children, Afsana and Afshin. When out of the kitchen, Bari has keen interests in photography, bird watching, and astronomy. Bari's culinary passion also follows him out the restaurant; he and his family are constantly experimenting with flavours for the next great dish to be added to the menu.
